My name is Vicki Elias Kennedy and I would like to tell you a little bit about my background. My passion for design and construction started when I was just a little girl. Back then my father was a draftsperson, whilst studying to be a builder. I used to always accompany him to client and council meetings and helped him measure up buildings for the alterations and additions that he designed and drafted. I loved it, couldn’t think of anything more enjoyable to do. As I grew up my father became a builder and of course I followed him along to his construction sites, helped him survey the site, set it out for the footings and then the walls. I listened in to to all the meetings he had with the architect and it was then I knew I wanted to be an architect. I developed a passion for design and construction. I enjoyed the discussions and resolutions with the clients and varies consultants and seeing it all come together and constructed with satisfaction.
By the time I was in year 10 at high school I knew that to get into architecture at university I need to do well in the HSC. So I buckled down and aimed high. To my surprise and delight I got a place in my first preference at University of NSW in Bachelor of Architecture.
